D&M Music Studio proudly presents Rachel Chung Piano Recital Pianist Hyunjung "Rachel" Chung, a native of South Korea, performs extensively in recitals, chamber concerts and conferences, and has appeared in numerous venues including Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall, TCU/Pepsi Co. Recital Hall, Symphony Space, Merkin Concert Hall, Mannes Concert Hall, Manhattan School of Music, New York University, Fisk University, and Yurim Art Hall, to name a few.
Dr. Chung won many competitions, including the 27th Artist International New York Debut Audition, Rutgers Concerto Competition, Mannes Piano Concerto Competition, and the Korean National Student Piano Competition. She also received the Saldarini Scholarship for outstanding piano students, the Edna Mason Award, Nicolas Award and Kreeger Residency Award at Rutgers University. Chung earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Seoul National University, her Master of Music degree and Professional Study Diploma from the Mannes College of Music in New York, and her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from Rutgers - the State University of New Jersey. From 2002 to 2006 she taught piano, aural skills, and music theory at Philander Smith College in Little Rock, AR. Recently she gave performances at the University of North Texas, University of Central Arkansas, Hawaii International Conference for Arts and Humanities, National College Music Society Conference in Quebec City, Canada, Heber Springs Chamber Music Society, Oklahoma State University, TCU/ Van Cliburn Teacher's Institute, Arkansas Music Teachers' Association (ASMTA), and Oval Art Gallery as a part of Arkansas Summer Music Series. She has collaborated with many established instrumentalists and served as an accompanist for the Delaware Valley Opera Company and Hudson Opera Theater in New York during the summer since 2004. As an active music educator, she has adjudicated ACT-SO, UCA Annual Piano Competition, MTA/CA Sonata/Sonatine Festival, and National Federation of Music Club Audition. She is also on the 2005-2007 Arkansas Arts on Tour program.


Programme includes works : La colombe from Eight Preludes by Messiaen Fifteen Variations and a Fugue on an Original Theme, Op. 32 ( Eroica Variations) By Beethoven. Prelude in D major, Op. 23, No. 4 by Rachmaninov Ballade No. 4 in f minor, Op. 52 by Chopin .Concert Etudes for Piano, Op. 40, No. 1, 2 & 3 by Kapustin I. Prelude. II. Reverie. III. Toccatina
