Pierpaolo Levi studied with Nives Caetani Buzzai. He achieved his doctorate at the Conservatorio C. Monteverdi of Bolzano and afterwards took courses with eminent musicians such as N. Montanari, R. Caporali and G. Cziffra. In 1982 the Accademia Mozartiana of Bologna conferred on him the title of “pianista”. Pierpaolo Levi’s repertoire ranges from Bach to contemporary composers (including, among many others, L. Nono, P. Boulez, K. H. Stockhausen, M. Kagel and S. Sciarrino) and includes the complete Liszt Hungarian Rhapsodies and the complete Chopin Studies, which he performed at the Chopin Festival in Paris.
