Message : Overview:

In my idea, New York is a must-go place for those who want to see the world. Although Washington DC is the nation capital, New York is simply the heart of United States. It's the financial capital, entertainment megacenter and melting pot for numerous cultures from all around the world.

NYC has plenty of interesting places to dig in, plenty of museums, shopping districts, historic sites, etc.

Message : Place to visit & Things to see:

Endless list of interesting places starts with Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island. Taking pictures with Lady Liberty from the desk of Ferry is a good experience, especially on a windy day.

Empire State Building is a good place to visit. It stood as the tallest building in the world for almost 40 years before lost that status to Sears Tower in 1970s. Nowadays, Empire State is still one of the most visit building in the world, and perhaps the most charming one in that elite group.

As an international student, you might want to visit the United Nation, located on the east side of Manhattan. I've never been there, though I think it must be great to see our Thai Flag fly over that place. Going to UN is quite difficult because there is no subway station nearby.

5th Avenue: Well, it's a must-go place even you are not a shopper. You can just stroll along its busy footpath as long as possible, or dig into stores along the street. Those stores are well-decorated, some stores are more of a showroom than a shopping place, and many place are renovated from the old buildings which still show their trace to the past years.

Time Square: Going there after dark, seeing the lights, watching the people, walking there till midnight. etc. Lots of shops and lots of people.

Message : Museums:

There are many world-class museums in NYC. Too bad, I went to only 2 places. The first one is the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is very huge. "The Met" has vast, various collection from around the world, from Rembrant to Van Gogh, Chinese to Ancient Egypt.

The other place called MOMA, which stands from the Museum Of Modern Art. Its major collection include the painting called 'Starry Night' of Vincent Van Gogh, one of the most famous painting in the world.

Tips: Museums love student, and it always has a discount rate admission for student. So, don't forget your student ID. That little red card can save some money for you.
